About the Creator
My name is Sarah, and my love for music began when I was a young child singing at church. Growing up, I spent my elementary school years singing and playing song games, and I eagerly joined band at the first opportunity. Alongside my passion for music, I knew early on that I wanted to be a teacher. By the time I graduated high school, I had combined these two loves into a clear career path.
I started my teaching career in 2007 at a high school, and since 2008, I have been with the same school district in central California. In My district, I have taught Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 8th grade in various capacities, including band, choir, general music, and more recently, orchestra. Over the years, I have created numerous materials to engage students in music making and understanding, and I take great joy in sharing these resources with others.
In my district, I have also taken on leadership roles as a first-year teacher mentor and have been part of our curriculum development team. I live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas with my husband, two boys, three dogs, and one cat. When I'm not teaching and creating materials, I am deeply involved with my church family and music ministry, enjoy trying to garden (despite the hungry deer), and love engaging in creative projects such as knitting, crochet, and sewing
